Valentine Ideas for the Sensational Single!

Yes, Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. AS IF…you hadn’t noticed the six aisles at Target dedicated to pink candy, red plush hearts and gooey cards. But what about the single person on February 14? Are you just supposed to hide? Of course not! Whether you’re joyfully unattached or just getting out of a relationship - this is a perfect day to do something that makes you feel fantastic.

Natural Energy Boosters

Energy is required to do work; from simple tasks such as lifting a pencil to difficult ones such as running a marathon. Energy is generated when food is metabolized in your body to perform several bodily functions. This includes talking, thinking, breathing, wound healing, digestion and muscle contraction.

A Confident New You

With our busy schedules and demanding deadlines, we often find ourselves stressed and in need of a more refreshed and confident look.  We must take time to rejuvenate ourselves so that we can meet and exceed the expectations our family and colleague have for us.  Spending time and money at the cosmetic counter is not the way to recapture your vitality and youthful energy and appearance.  An individualized plan for smoothing wrinkles, enhancing your natural features, and eliminating problem areas can more effectively create a new you.  A wonderful way to refresh your appe

Keep Calm, Cool and Collected

It’s that time of year when stress may easily pay a visit and settle in.  Our schedules become overtaxed with holiday planning and parties, financial concerns, end-of-year preparations, travel, illness and the list goes on.  Learning how to keep calm and carry on during the holidays — or at any time --- helps to counteract the negative effects to our overall health and mental wellbeing.  Try one or more of these tips to achieve a peaceful mind.

Here’s to Thoughtful Gift Giving – Holiday 2012

T’is the season to wrap yourself up in the frenzy of gifting! Let’s see, you must remember to buy something for your hair stylist, your kids’ teachers (school, karate, piano and sports coach), your elderly aunt and of course, your boss. There’s also your loving spouse (who swears he doesn’t need anything), your devoted mother (who says she doesn’t want anything) and your diva-esque bestie (who rarely likes anything, anyway--but that’s another story).

HOLD ON!

Did You Bring Baggage, Too?

By the time we reach, shall we say, a “certain age” it’s highly possible that we might carry with us a bit of baggage. Heartbreak followed by dashed hopes, careers that stubbornly cling to the launching pad and friendships you thought would be yours to enjoy forever…sometimes end for no real reason. Ah well, it’s all part of being human. We learn to adjust expectations, acknowledge our mistakes and hopefully, learn something positive along the way. But the two pieces of baggage I am not willing to accept just yet are the ones who have recently moved in under my eyes.

Five Signs You’re Ready for Election Day to Be Over

Regardless of your political affiliation, one has to admit—it’s been a loooong election season. In fact, who can even call it a “season” when it seems to have been going on for years? At long last, though, we can put the race behind us and start focusing again on the important stuff like the economy, world peace and regular facials. ;)

If you, like many, have become somewhat obsessed over the American political scene, it might be time to take a break. Here are the Top Five Signs that you’re ready for Election Day to be over:

The (Health) Benefits of Positive Thinking

I’ve heard the saying more than once: “what you focus on expands.”  If that’s the case, then positive thinking should beget favorable results.  And not only does an optimistic view of life afford the ability to approach and overcome obstacles more productively, but thinking positively also affects our health and wellbeing.

A few of these health benefits include:

Habits That Add Up To A Happier Day

The last few weeks have been a whirlwind in my personal life –full of some serious ups and downs. Thankfully I have an amazing support system and also a few tricks that help to maintain a level of calm when things seem crazy. I decided to list out some of these habits, as I thought they might benefit others who could use a dose of serenity!

Rest & Re-Charge

The last week has been a tough one but thankfully I was able to spend the weekend with my boyfriend and his family at their lake cabin which really helped to calm me down and re charge my battery. I plan to make this week a stellar one and get back on track with lots of little (groceries, vacuuming, laundry) and big (goals, blog work, yoga schedule) things. Sometimes hard stuff can take a toll on you, but those trying times also remind you to set your priorities and remember what gets you out of bed every morning.
